Health and Safety at Work Act, etc. 1974
This act states that an employer has a duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of employees, so far as is reasonably practicable. According to this Act, employers must ensure there are adequate systems in place to prevent workplace stress. To help with this, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has now defined a set of standards that it believes sufficiently covers the main causes of workplace stress. These are called the Management Standards.
